This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of 10 workforce topics that include: retention; recruiting and selection; internships and co-ops; apprenticeships; employee development; working with educators; working with workforce investment boards; partnering with unions; operator certifications; and, technology to support workforce initiatives. Collaboration possibilities were identified based on
geographic definitions, and national ideas were developed around seven
areas including:
Going Forward;
Brand and Image; Workforce Development
and Education; Workforce Planning and
Metrics; Outreach to Potential
Workforce;
Collaboration Leadership; and,
Alternatives to Increasing
Utility Workforce. Regional ideas focused on seven different
areas including:
One Regional Voice;
Workforce Needs; WIBs;
Federal Dollars;
Other Industry
Partnerships;
Career Tools; and,
Education. Local ideas focused on six areas including:
Training; recruiting;
Sharing Services;
Raising Awareness;
Assessing Needs; and,
WIBs. Workshop recommendations were synthesized
into three primary recommendations.
