This powerpoint presentation begins by presenting process selection drivers that include: regulatory drivers; source water drivers; and, safety and security concerns. The energy requirements are presented for the following advanced technologies: microfiltration/ultrafiltration; nanofiltration/reverse osmosis; ultraviolet (UV) disinfection and UV advanced oxidation process (AOP); ozone and ozone AOP; and, onsite hypochlorite generation. Opportunities to recoup are listed, along with calculation of payback, reducing building power consumption, and innovative examples including: energy recovery through hydraulic
