This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of a wellhead protection program developed by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP) for its
groundwater system. Challenges to source water protection in that area are listed, along with Wellhead Protection Plan (WPP) components, including:
wellhead protection areas;
contaminant inventory; and,
groundwater protection strategies including spill tracking,
prioritization of remediation sites,
groundwater monitoring, and
identification of contamination.
