It is the industry's challenge to show commercial, industrial, and institutional customers that increased water efficiency makes good business sense. The technologies are often familiar, and the paybacks swift. The savings encompass water, energy, sewer, and waste treatment costs. The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority's Industrial and Commercial Water Conservation Program set out to develop water conservation recommendations for a broad range of industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities. This paper outlines the program and identifies successful implementations.
