This paper describes how a public agency, the Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency, and the Edwards Air Force Base in the Mojave Desert of California implemented a long-term chemical injection testing plant program to mitigate water distribution corrosion problems at the Base. The current testing program involves the injection of a corrosion inhibitor and an iron sequestering agent into the water at different points on the Base. The program background and a summary of the pilot test results are presented.
