Successful organizational improvement involves four basic questions: what is the
business about; what type of organizational culture exists; how is the work
performed; and what type of leadership exists within the organization. These four
questions relate to the purpose, culture, and leadership of the organization, and
the processes the organization uses to accomplish its objectives. Effective
organizational change requires that all four are understood and aligned. This
paper discusses the components of successful organizational re-engineering and
addresses the issue of organizational culture and how it relates to leadership
and strategy. Includes 5 references, figures.
