This paper presents Dallas Water Utilities' initiatives to optimize the performance of the Elm Fork Water Treatment Plant (WTP) to reduce turbidity and thereby minimize the risk of transmission of pathogenic organisms, particularly Cryptosporidium. The optimization initiatives involve participation in the Partnership for Safe Water and Texas Optimization Program. This paper focuses on the chronological implementation of optimization at the Elm Fork WTP.
