This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of natural organic matter (NOM) including NOM characterization parameters and tools. High performance size exclusion chromatography (HPSEC) was successfully applied to compare different treatment processes. The presentation focuses on three enhancement techniques to extract more useful analytical information that include: Delta (?) HPSEC; Peak Fitting; and, Multi-wavelength 3D Contour Plots. Conclusions were that greater depth of interpretation is possible with HPSEC-UV than is currently realized, and that HPSEC appears promising for linking raw water organic character with treatability.
