Key analytical methodologies and techniques for control of concentration of chlorine dioxide in drinking water treatment applications have been identified. The importance of maintaining balance in dosing and correct content of the disinfectant was demonstrated. Maintenance protocols were established for monitoring of the disinfectant using reagentless ClO2 analyzers and illustrated by the examples from one drinking water plant. The correct installation, cleaning and calibration of these systems were proven critical through the case study. Includes 5 references, figures.
