This specification covers the material requirements for informational content labels on both coated and uncoated metal components. Both labels Type I and II are for permanent applications.
Type I Labels.
Type I labels are made of a vinyl or a polyester film with a thickness of 0.3 mm minimum. These type labels shall be for coated metal parts subjected to indirect sunlight.
These type labels contain an acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive with a thickness of 0.025 mm and must cover the entire reverse side of the label.
The labels must be able to be removed and repositioned at least two (2) times.
Printing for label shall be reverse printed, (Second Surface Printed).
Type II Labels.
These labels are made of a single ply polyester film with a thickness of 0.03 to 0.06 mm. These type labels shall be for uncoated metal parts subjected to indirect sunlight.
Labels shall have a permanent pressure sensitive adhesive with a thickness of 0.025 mm.
Labels are not to be transferred from one (1) location to another.
Printing for this label shall be reverse printed, (Second Surface Printed).
