Purpose. This standard shall be used to determine the formability of sound deadener materials used in automotive body trim applications. The test simulates the production baking process under laboratory conditions.

Formability of deadener materials, as determined by this test method, shall be defined as the ability of the material to comply with the contours of a standard steel test panel when subjected to the baking conditions, see Table 1.

Applicability. Test is for heat fusible pads that are used on floors, transmission tunnels and roofs.
