This 62nd Edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations becomes effective on 1 January 2021 and replaces the 61st Edition, which must not be used after 31 December 2020 unless specifically permitted in these Regulations.
The IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations are published in order to provide procedures for the shipper and the operator by which articles and substances with hazardous properties can be safely transported by air on all commercial air transport.
The detailed content of these Regulations gives all the necessary provisions to enable a shipper to correctly prepare a consignment of dangerous goods for air transport and for a freight forwarder and airline/ground handling agent dangerous goods acceptance personnel to be able to verify, to the extent possible, that the consignment of dangerous goods complies with the requirements of these Regulations.
