This Defence Standard (Def Stan) in conjunction with the documents referred to herein stipulates the arrangements, design parameters, policy, protection, manufacture and testing for heated and unheated ship bridge windows, wipers, portlights, viewing ports and glass screens to be fitted in HM Surface Ships, and specifies the following:

1) Range of sizes of ships bridge window panels;

2) Requirements for their manufacture, examination and testing.
