a) This standard may be directly invoked by invitation to tender, contract, procedure or referenced by other MOD documentation.

b) The requirements of this standard are applicable to:

i) Defining the power source requirements for systems and equipment requiring power sources.

ii) Demonstrating the suitability of an in-service battery to meet the performance requirements of a new equipment type.

iii) Demonstrating the effects of a change in use of existing equipment that includes a power source.

iv) The procurement of equipment (including COTS and proprietary items) that includes a power source.

v) The replacement (enhancement or supercession) of existing battery types.

vi) Demonstrating the need for the introduction of a new a power source.
