This partof the Standard invokes BS 2316 for theelectrical requirements and tests to prove compliance
This partof the Standard lists by type (Tables I(A) to I ( D ) ) cables to be usedby the Ministry of Defence for new requirements and replacement purposes.
This partof the Standard implements
American-British-Canadian-AustralianQuadripartite Standardization Agreement (QSTAG) 203 dated 12 January 1968 which presents the detai3ls of NATO Electronic Parts Recommendation (NEPR) No 3. The substance of each of the above documents is shown in Annex A of this Standard

Cables inTable A Groups 1 to 6 inclusive fully comply with BS 2316 and the additional requirements detailed inthis Standard
Cables inTable A Groups 7 to 11 inclusive are suitable for use within the temperature range -3OOCto +85OC. The upper temperature limit refers to the combination ofambient temperature and the temperature rise due to the continuous current flowin the cable conductors. In practice it can be assumed that the cables will be operating attheir normal conductor temperature of 85OC for one third of their installedlife, (ie an allotted life of 15 years) with short excursions to 105O C.
