This Standard specifies the requirements for the packaging of mechanical components to Military Levels P and N.

Only components with a minimum fragility factor of 100 g, and a Primary Packaged Quantity (PPQ) of up to 5 kg mass are covered.

Typical items covered by this Standard are:

(a) bolts, nuts, screw thread inserts, studs and washers;

(b) brackets, cases, covers and webbing straps;

(cl bushes, collars and spacers;

(d) catches, cleats, clips, fasteners and retaining rings;

(e) gears;

(f) pins, rivets, shafts and spindles;

(g) plates and decal transfers;

(h) springs.
