The optical cable detailed in this Specification will be installed as a temporary measure to bridge failed permanent optical cables and may be installed between transmission towers or between equipment modules and transmission towers, for a short period of time until a permanent repair can be completed. This cable shall be capable of being laid directly on the ground surface, or in a shallow slit trench, or be strung between existing or temporary structures. Suspension fittings and helical dead end fittings for use when stringing this cable above ground are also described in this Specification.
