This Specification details the functional and performance requirements for dynamic system monitoring equipment.
Monitoring systems are required to enable the behaviour of power system electrical quantities to be studied and shall comprise of recording monitors installed at substations and central replay units, housed in office buildings. The monitoring systems described herein are used exclusively for power system monitoring and are separate to power system fault recorders which are used in conjunction with protection systems.
Two types of recording monitors are required, one which will record continuously and another which will record only when triggered.
