PURPOSE AND SCOPE
This document defines the way asset records should be recorded in ETAM asset data systems. It details what information needs to be provided by various Asset Management and Capital Delivery teams for the equipment used at substations and other operational sites.
Following alignment of the data structures between ELLIPSE and SAP the detail provided in this document should also be used when creating assets in the financial SAP database.
The aim of this document is to provide guidance on the rules and conventions governing the recording of OHL, Cable and Substation assets in the ELLIPSE and SAP databases.
Part 2 describes the naming convention for overhead line and fibre optic assets.
Part 3 describes the naming convention for cables and associated assets.
Part 4 outlines nomenclature for the main substation layouts (i.e. busbar & mesh designs) at various operating voltages ranging from 400 to 33kV and associated primary plant items. Other substation non-asset related records are covered in this section.
Part 5 covers the naming convention for reactive compensators, protection, telecoms and strategic spares plant items.
The Appendices provide more detail regarding the ELLIPSE structure that needs to be taken into account when assets are created.
Throughout this document the use of words in capital letters typically denotes an ELLIPSE data entry, either the plant number or equipment description.
