Purpose

The Notice Board announces a number of signalling asset records which are to be submitted for permanent archive at National Records Group, York [NRG]. It is supported by an NR Infrastructure Projects Project Advice Note [PAN/E/SE/INT/0011 Goods Inwards Checks of Signalling Records] and various NRG work instructions which will eventually become a part of the Signalling Design Handbook.

The purpose of storing the additional items is to better record the reasons for the asset configuration and as a means of reducing research costs in the future. This change assists in NR’s commitment to meet both the Construction, Design and Management Regulations [CDM 2015] and the Common Safety Method for Risk Evaluation and Assessment [CSM-RA].

Retaining these documents places a requirement on change projects to update (or simply add to) these documents when the project is deployed.
