The scope of this module is to provide consistent management of lift inspection, maintenance and interventions of Lift assets.

This module applies to all Network Rail lifts within the portfolio of Buildings and Architecture and is for internal asset life cycle management.

This module does not seek to address activities of the Responsible Person (Premises Manager), as this is managed through National Operating Procedures.

This module does not apply to Train Operating Companies.

Purpose

The purpose of this module is to provide a structure for the management of inspection, maintenance and intervention of lift assets such as to achieve:

a) Delivery of safe and reliable assets;

b) Delivery of a consistent structure for the inspection, maintenance and intervention of lift assets.

c) Compliance with relevant legislation and in particular; Lift Directive 2014/33/EU, Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) and Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).
