1. [All] The series 1800 should apply to the execution of all structural steelwork and should be read in conjunction with the general requirements in NR/L2/CIV/140 Model Clauses for Civil Engineering Works relevant to the specification for the particular works to be undertaken.

2. The series 1800 should also be applied to the execution of the steelwork for repair and/or strengthening of existing structures.

3. The application of the series 1800 is restricted to the execution of structural steelwork whose design conforms to BS EN 1993 and the relevant parts of BS EN 1994, including the UK National Annexes and the Published Documents and other non-contradictory complementary information referenced therein, and whose execution is within the scope of BS EN 1090-2:2008 +A1:2011.
