This module applies to a site of work designated as being segregated from the railway on or near the line and it covers two scenarios:

Scenario 1: construction of a new railway line

Scenario 2: construction works taking place within a possession and siding possession

Purpose

This module provides risk-based controls for works on or near the line within a possession and lineside where they can be segregated from the railway so that: 

a) risk to the operational railway is eliminated or reduced to as low as is reasonably practical; 

b) once the site of work designated as segregated from the railway is in place, the requirements of NR/L2/OHS/019 do not apply and non-PTS operatives can be used.
