This module applies to maintenance, repair and renewal requirements of boundary measures and all who are involved in those activities. This module covers:

a) the maintenance, repair and renewal requirements for boundary measures protecting Network Rail operational infrastructure, depots and adjacent railway facilities;

b) the maintenance, repair and renewal requirements for boundary measures protecting Network Rail disused and closed lines, and other non-operational land.

This module does not cover:

a) security measures that do not form part of the boundary;

b) maintenance, repair, renewal, and enhancement of retaining walls (see NR/L3/CIV/006/5a);

c) vehicle containment systems (see NR/L3/CIV/00012);

d) acoustic fences (barriers);

e) touch potential barriers;

f) boundary measures forming part of a station or depot lease agreement.
