This specification sets out the technical requirements for metal Equipment Enclosures.

It applies to any organisation involved in the development of Equipment Enclosures.

This specification covers two standard Equipment Enclosure sizes, three types of environmental control and two levels of security rating.

The Equipment Enclosure sizes are shown in Appendix A.

The types of environmental controls are:

a) Passive (default);

b) Forced air;

c) Air conditioned.

The levels of security rating are:

a) Standard   Security to LPS 1175 classification SR2

b) High         Security to LPS 1175 classification SR3

Purpose

This specification allows metal Equipment Enclosures to be developed in line with current Network Rail standards and procedures. This means the product offered is the best solution for Network Rail.
