The terms defined in this module apply to the implementation of signalling logic to implement required functional requirements, whether that is to be achieved in the interlocking itself, or at the trackside, or within the signaller’s control system or other related system.

The selection of relevant terms primarily reflects those with relevance to Multiple Aspect Signalling to which Track Circuit Block Regulations apply, controlled from a route setting panel or VDU system. 

Purpose 

This module forms part of the Signalling Principles Handbook (NR/L2/SIG/30009) and is to be read in conjunction with the other modules of the handbook. Its purpose is to provide a single document within which all definitions are stated, so that the various other modules of the handbook adopt consistent use of the terms.
