This Level 2 document applies to all projects to alter Network Rail's infrastructure, or with the potential to affect the fitness for purpose of the Network Rail Infrastructure. It is mandatory for all work with signalling content which requires testing to NR/L2/SIG/30014.

Purpose

This document is part of the suite of documents contained within the Signalling Works Testing Handbook, NR/L2/SIG/30014, which together detail the requirements for signalling works testing activities.

This Level 2 document sets the requirements for providing authority to individuals to appoint Testers in Charge and accept Test and / or Commissioning Plans.

It details the method of appointment of the Tester In Charge for a project, and contains requirements regarding the proposal, assessment and appointment of the Tester In Charge along with acceptance of the role by the individual concerned.

It defines the Tester In Charge roles that may be required on signalling projects.
