This module sets out how requirements development and management activities are to be carried out.

This module covers requirements development and management activities related to the production of the framework documents. It does not apply to other systems engineering activities.

This module applies to roles involved in the development and management of requirements.

Purpose

This module is part of the NR/L3/INI/P3M/126 Network Rail Requirements manual.

It expands and provides more detail on the principles specified in NR/L2/INI/P3M/104 to identify and mandate:

a) requirements development activities and how they are to be undertaken; and

b) requirements management activities and how they are to be undertaken.

This will enable Network Rail to embed consistent requirements practice across the business in order to improve the likelihood of successful project and programme outcomes, and to meet client expectations, legislation and assurance requirements.
