This Network Rail Guidance Note outlines the preferred approach to be utilised by all projects to assess the schedule model in relation to the durations defined for each of the activities.
It is recommended that this approach is applied to all projects within the Network Rail portfolio prior to baselining for an authority submission.
The key outcomes are:
• the project schedule model is fully aligned with the delivery scope and approved by the project manager;
• the schedule model encompasses appropriate contingencies with regards to durations in line with the confidence level agreed and the Risks;
• Stakeholders are provided with confidence that the project will be finished as scheduled.
Purpose
This Guidance Note forms part of the suite of documents comprising the Planning and Programme Controls standard.
This guidance document outlines the best practice for reviewing and updating the schedule model to provide the project stakeholders with a confidence of timely delivery.
