The requirements of this procedure apply to Controllers working in a Route Operational Control environment. This includes Incident Controllers, Information Controllers, information coordinators and Train Running Controllers. The general arrangements outlined in the main body of the standard apply to all roles but there are separate competence frameworks for each role, as outlined in the appendices. This procedure should be read in conjunction with NR/L3/OPS/045/2.01 which outlines the requirements for assessor competence and the verification process.
Purpose
This procedure sets out the arrangements to be followed to assess, develop and confirm the competence of those working in Route Operations Control.
Compliance with this procedure will lead to competence to the Level 2 Operational Rules competence, as defined in NR/L3/OPS/045/2.01.
