The requirements of this procedure apply to any Network Rail employee working in a Network Rail station environment in a front-line capacity, for example as a customer service assistant, station control assistant, station reception or station supervisor. Throughout this document the term Station Staff is used to cover all these roles.

This procedure applies to all common or exclusively controlled areas of Network Rail Managed Stations except stations where the Train Operators lead as the Service Provider to Network Rail Infrastructure Limited. 

PURPOSE 

This procedure sets out the arrangements to be followed in order to assess, develop and confirm the competence of those Network Rail employees working in a station environment in a front-line capacity at Network Rail Managed Stations.
