The process is applicable to all Regions where a section of line has been closed for extreme weather or other operational reasons.

The process does not cover the move between Route Category Levels and reintroduction of a full operational service to lines following a period of reduced maintenance, service reduction and / or de-energisation (NR/L2/MTC/CP008 covers those situations).

PURPOSE

The process manages the risks associated with lines that have been closed due to extreme weather conditions or for other operational reasons. It also provides guidance to Route Controls to assist with decision making regarding the type of route and line proving required and how it will be implemented.
