This Special Inspection Notice applies to all delivery units with overhead line equipment (OLE) on Scotland and London North Eastern routes.

NOTE: This SIN was originally published in 2012 and reopened following concerns over the implementation on Scotland and LNE routes.

Purpose

This Special Inspection Notice applies to the electrical bonding at all bridges, tunnels and other overline structures to check that:

• All exposed metal is properly bonded and

• All bridges, tunnels and other overline structures constructed of masonry, concrete or wood are properly protected against flashover.
