This specification applies to new 400 V and 440 V changeover switchboards installed on the D.C. Electrified Lines. The specification does not include switchboards with bypass switching facilities.

Purpose

This specification states the requirements for the design, manufacture and testing of low voltage changeover switchboards used in d.c. traction substations for the control and distribution of 400 V or 440 V, 50 Hz auxiliary supplies for substation domestic and for signalling and other trackside purposes.
