The communications requirements defined herein are applicable where the IECC is used in relation to the signalling and operation of Railtrack infrastructure.

PURPOSE

This specification defines the mandatory communications requirements between the individual subsystems which form the Integrated Electronic Control Centre (IECC) when used on Railtrack infrastructure. It identifies the communications strategy to be applied, the protocols to be used and the data representations to be employed. Two types of communications are defined; between one IECC subsystem and another, and between an IECC subsystem and an interlocking.
