The instruction shall apply to Overhead line structures designed for use on British Railways.
Purpose
This standard is for use by staff involved in designing steel structures for overhead line equipment. It defines the standards to be applied allowing economy consistent with safety and performance requirements.
Where appropriate, loading tables, allocation charts or computer programs etc., devised in accordance with the standards outlined herein, may be used instead of designing from first principles.
