Introduction
This instruction specifies the installation standards to be adopted where cable routes cross in order to minimise hazards to staff and the risk of flame propagation in the event of cable failure.
The instruction is applicable to d.c. traction cable routes, installed at ballast level and normally running at right angles to the track, crossing RE & PE's main transmission and RS & TE's cable routes (main cable routes) normally run along the cess in concrete troughing.
