All Hydraulic Power Packs used with clamp locks, except Smiths Wide Neck Pumps, shall be fitted retrospectively with level indicators (Catalogue Number 86/32542 for ten indicators).
As Vickers wide neck Hydraulic Pump units were not fitted with level indicators at Phase 1 of this SIN, all Vickers pump units shall be identified and any not fitted with level indicators shall have an indicator fitted or shall be changed for either a unit that can be fitted with a level indicator or for a Smiths Wide Neck Hydraulic Pack (which does not need this device fitted).
PURPOSE
This Special Inspection Notice explains the necessity for checking clamp lock hydraulic fluid level and requires the fitting of a level indicator.
