Introduction

This document is intended as a release note for IECC hardware suppliers already conversant with the Integrated Electronic Control Centre (IECC). It provides background information on the MVME172 processor board upgrade and outlines the hardware changes.

The MVME172 board has been subject to change since its introduction, as some board components have become unavailable and have been replaced by others. This has resulted in a number of variants of the MVME172 board being approved for use in IECC.

These IECC-approved MVME172 variants are, as far as IECC is concerned, functionally equivalent and interchangeable. The generic term MVME172 when used in this document is applicable to all IECC-approved variants of this board.
