All reports of sunlight affecting the visibility of a signal. This shall include Cat A SPADs where an allegation has been made regarding sunlight.
Where an allegation against the signalling system is made this shall be investigated using the Signal Failure Investigation (SFI) process, that shall take precedence over this specification. However, records shall be maintained as defined in this specification
Purpose
The purpose of this Technical Instruction is so that the technical requirements for the immediate investigation following notification of sunlight issues affecting the visibility of a signal are defined and implemented. This shall include Cat A SPADs where an allegation has been made regarding sunlight.
