There are 110 Geismar aluminium body track gauges as per CAT No. 039/029727 which have been fitted with modified metallic P8 wheel gauge profile (post calibration date October 2021).

Purpose

To prevent track circuits being accidentally operated with the use of aluminium body track gauges. There have been three recent occurrences of track circuit occupation caused by aluminium body track gauges fitted with the modified P8 profile during annual calibration.
