This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the calculation of the economic level of leakage (ELL). The IWA Water Loss Task Force
(WLTF) has had an objective of developing quick
practical methods of determining SRELL since
1991, but encountered
two barriers to achieving this:
the United Kingdom methods are data intensive and cannot be used
if there are no DMAs and
if there are seasonal variations in night use; and,
absence of a methodology for allowing for
influence of pressure on the short-run economic level of leakage (SRELL)
due to reduction in breaks. Three methodological solutions are presented, along with ELLCalcs models that were incorporated into the LEAKSSuite
ELLCalcs module. Includes tables, figures.
