This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of Miya's comprehensive solutions for water
efficiency and Miya's meter replacement policy. Topics presented include: review of in-service domestic meters and meter selection; definition of water consumption patterns and meter
testing in lab; data analysis and calculation of weighted error and
water loss; meter testing in lab with the unmeasured flow reducers (UFRs); calculation of optimal replacement period for domestic
meters; and, revenue loss/gain calculation. Conclusions indicate that: the prediction of system-specific economic meter
replacement policies is feasible; the moment when a meter is changed is an ideal one to
install the UFR as well; Italian water utilities are becoming more
sensitive to the water metering issue; and, achievable results in application of described methodology
and UFR is expected to be higher in US. Includes tables, figures.
