This paper describes how Severn Trent Water Ltd. is preparing itself for the 21st
century, with a major program of work to deliver radical performance improvements
in its Water Distribution and Sewerage Networks Management Division. The strategy
being employed is based on the standardization of work processes and the
introduction of flow processes, a move to centralized management, and the
development of localized service delivery. The program of business improvement
activity will leverage information technology and new technology to enable the
re-engineering of the network business. Includes figures.
