PURPOSE AND SCOPE
This procedure defines the key Transmission Procedure (TP) minimum requirements as applied to the delivery of Electricity Transmission single asset replacement/refurbishment/recondition investments.
Investments in the National Grid Electricity Transmission System that are subject to the requirements of the Network Development Process (NDP) framework shall be delivered utilising the suite of relevant Transmission Procedures (TP). (Note: UKBP/TP500 and the Network Development Process Map jointly define the Network Development Process framework
It is recognised that for investments that fall in to the category of single asset replacement /refurbishment/recondition that are typically of a short duration then the full application of a relevant TP may not provide the most cost efficient means of delivering that investment and as such agreed key Transmission Procedure (TP) minimum requirements can be applied. These key TP minimum requirements are grouped together for each type of single asset replacement/refurbishment/ recondition investment and presented as separate appendices in this procedure. e.g. Appendix A CB Replacement (with CT’s) & (without CT’s)
Each appendix shall be approved by Capital Delivery (CD) Technical Assurance (TA) Technical Assurance Manager and ETAM Engineering Project Manager.
Furthermore this procedure shall be read in conjunction with the TGN(E) 286 which defines the associated technical guidance and agreed Technical deviations to NG Technical Specifications (TS) for the delivery of Single Asset Replacement/Refurbishment/Reconditioning Investments. The technical guidance and agreed technical deviations are grouped together for each type of single asset replacement/refurbishment/ recondition investment and presented as separate appendices in TGN (E) 286. e.g. Appendix A CB Replacement (with CT’s) & (without CT’s).
Note: UKBP/TP236 Appendices and TGN(E) 286 Appendices shall correspond to each other when applied to the same type of single asset replacement/refurbishment/recondition investments.
Investments that are not defined in this procedure shall comply fully with the requirements of the UKBP/Transmission procedures where applicable.
