All Delivery Units where a full signalling maintenance regime cannot be supported due to a localised reduction of resource availability and the limitations imposed due to government restrictions.

Purpose

This Notice Board and the accompanying Appendices set out the Network Technical Head [Signalling] guidance on the management of inspection, maintenance and re-instatement of signalling assets where a localised reduction in availability of skilled resources due to COVID-19 means a full maintenance regime cannot be supported. This Notice Board is not to be used to change maintenance regimes for any other reason.

Included in this Notice Board are:

a) A list of critical tasks which are deemed essential to the safe running of the railway.

b) A prioritised list of maintenance tasks (Appendix A).

c) Generic risk assessment of tasks which can be used to support cancellation of maintenance services (Appendix A).

d) Alternative maintenance practices which can be used to maintain safety when not completing services in their entirety.

e) Guidance on limits related to prioritisation and cancellation of work in Ellipse.

f) Guidance on changes to assurance processes which support safety critical maintenance activities.
