All Delivery Units where a full signalling maintenance regime cannot be supported where there is a localised reduction of resource availability. This Notice Board can only be used when specially authorised by the Regional Signalling Engineer, it’s use documented and the relevant standard variations are in place to support its use.

It cannot be used for any other purpose.

Purpose 

This Notice Board and the accompanying Appendices set out the Network Technical Head [Signalling] guidance on the management of inspection, maintenance and re-instatement of signalling assets where a localised reduction in availability of skilled resources means a full maintenance regime cannot be supported. 

This Notice Board is not to be used to change maintenance regimes for any other reason 

Included in this Notice Board are: 

a) A list of critical tasks which are deemed essential to the safe running of the railway. 

b) A prioritised list of maintenance tasks (Appendix A).

c) Generic risk assessment of tasks which can be used to support cancellation of maintenance services (Appendix A). 

d) Alternative maintenance practices which can be used to maintain safety when not completing services in their entirety. 

e) Guidance on limits related to prioritisation and cancellation of work in Ellipse.

f) Guidance on changes to assurance processes which support safety critical maintenance activities.
