This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the Water/Wastewater Agency Response Networks
(WARN). The objective of the WARN Operational Plan includes: helping each WARN create
procedures on how to activate and implement
its signed agreement;
act as the operational
extension of the WARN agreement;
is based on the NIMS IS 706 course
materials and recommended procedures; and, assists in
applying the IS 706, and encourages consistency. The Operational Plan covers topics such as:
pre-emergency governance structure;
training, exercises, and updates;
WARN activation;
WARN response coordination;
WARN communication tools;
After Action Report and Improvement Plan; and,
supporting documents, checklists, and forms. It was
developed in partnership with the AWWA Water and
Wastewater Mutual Aid/Assistance Resource Typing
Manual. The steps for creating an Operational Plan are listed, along with assumptions of the
WARN Operational Plan, the concept of emergency operations, WARN activation, response considerations, response team coordination, WARN communication tools, supporting documents, checklists, and forms, and release date and recent changes.
