FDT and EDDL are two mainstream technologies of device integration. Both are widely used in device integration. FDT is mainly built on the basis of software components. EDDL is built on the basis of the textual description. Method realizations and product forms of two technologies are different. Currently, it is lack of interoperable capabilities and mutual migration path between the two products, it difficult to co-exist and play the advantages of both technologies. Therefore, a specification to connect two technologies is need. It provide migration path to enable interoperability between them. Combination of two technologies gives full play to their advantages. This specification give general requirements of converting EDD file into FDT/DTM for meet the demand. Using this standard, FDT/DTM developer can develop EDD-DTM conversion tool. This tool can be used to import, parse, manage EDD document, and ultimately generate the corresponding DTM. Moreover it can make the generation of DTM maintain a highly consistency in function, data and presentation styles. It is useful to import the EDD in the FDT and make full use of the advantages of EDDL integration when we enjoy in convenience brought by FDT/DTM technology.
