This Guidance Note applies to Investment Project and Asset Management staff, managers and contractors who are planning / preparing to perform any work from any discipline in an area that includes third / fourth rail systems.
It does not include work inside DC substations which is subject to the requirements of NR/SP/ELP/21060.
Purpose
This Guidance Note details best practice that is to be considered by both Network Rail and it's contractors when planning and undertaking work on or adjacent to conductor rail(s) within Investment Projects and the project delivery arm of Asset Management.
